Signal towers double as machine monitors
The German signal tower and beacon specialist Werma has come up with a wireless system for monitoring up to 50 machines using transmitters integrated into signal towers. Its Wireless Information Network (WIN) sends machine data from the transmitters (slaves) to a receiver (the master) linked to a PC running software that can analyse machine states and identify error patterns.
Initially, there are two versions: a starter kit for monitoring up to three machines, which includes Werma’s KombiSign 71 signal towers; and a version for monitoring up to four states per machine using existing signal towers. Both versions can be expanded up to 50 slaves per network.
